投資人預期政府關閉只是短暫現象，美國市場大致未受重大衝擊，股市甚至全面上揚，債券行情小跌，但金價則每英兩重挫逾40美元。

紐約股市的道瓊指數1日上揚0.4%，以15,191.70點作收；標準普爾500指數上漲0.8%，收1,695.00點；那斯達克股價指數更大漲1.23%，收3,817.98點。
