受「限娛令、打奢」影響，大陸選秀１年只能上４檔音樂類節目，因此，選秀大轉向，從歌唱跳舞、跳水等類型改為諧星、喜劇選秀。陸媒表示，明年預計超過８個此類節目上檔。

這８個節目包括安徽衛視《超級笑星》、浙江衛視《中國喜劇王》、江蘇衛視《中國笑星》、江西衛視《家庭幽默錄影》與《誰能逗笑喜劇明星》、貴州衛視《非常歡樂》、湖南衛視《就是讓你笑》、東方衛視《喜劇之王》。

日前傳出，王晶將和交惡13年的周星馳〈星爺〉在《笑星》同台，王晶１日回應，兩人只是談不來，工作合作沒問題。

王晶說，加入節目是為了發掘新諧星。對於傳星爺將擔任節目總決賽嘉賓，王晶耐人尋味的說：「能成為合作夥伴，也不一定能成為知己。」未來是否合作？王晶補一槍：「沒有人能跟他合作，他都是自己做自己的。」兩人恩怨依舊未解。
