胖達人、山水米事件重創國人消費信心，馬總統今天早上和食品衛生團體座談時表示，由於食品衛生法和公平交易法有相當大的差別，現行除了努力修法提高罰則外，也可試著引現行相關法令替受害人提訴訟賠償。

對此環保署長沈世宏指出，環保署自民國95年以來就引用行政罰法第18條、視違法行為程度審酌加重罰鍰，衛福部亦可在修法完成前引用，以解決現行的食品衛生法、公平交易法罰款偏低的問題，此建議也當場獲得衛福部部長邱文達正面回應。
