台銀緬甸仰光辦事處獲准

金管會今天同意台灣銀行向緬甸主管機關申請設立仰光代表人辦事處。

台銀考量緬甸近年政經情勢逐步明朗，且該國為東協經濟體成員國，具有豐富勞動力，並蘊藏天然資源等諸多商機，各國企業及台商對其抱持極大的投資興趣。經該行評估緬甸政經、金融概況及台緬雙邊貿易等情形，因此規劃在當地設立代表人辦事處，以深入了解當地金融環境及未來發展機會。

目前我國銀行已獲金管會核准在緬甸設立代表人辦事處，共有一銀、玉山銀、國泰世華銀行、兆豐銀行、中信銀及新光銀行等六家，其中一銀及玉山銀也已獲緬甸主管機關核准設立。
