田中失落：球迷是來看我贏的

經過將近兩年，洋基隊投手田中將大終於在例行賽輸球，終止42連不敗以及34連勝，即使仍算是6局僅3分自責分的優質先發，田中對於自己的表現還是不滿意，覺得有些失望，不過失望的不是的表現，「很多球迷來看我贏球，所以下次登板我會再試著奪勝的。」

自從2012年8月19日在日職輸給西武獅開始，這位強投便未於例行賽敗北，來到美國當大家都看著他第一場就輸時，沒想到不僅贏了，還連贏6場，達成34連勝與42連不敗的新紀錄。只是21日面對曾經對戰過的小熊踢到鐵板，一切紀錄都只能成追憶。

賽後田中將大表示，「我有點失望，因為我覺得有許多球迷來這就是看我贏的。下次當我再上場時，我會試著再贏，試著讓連勝紀錄持續。」而投手教練羅斯柴爾德(Larry Rothschild)依舊稱讚他的投球，「他不喜歡輸的感覺，不管連勝有沒有繼續，他一點都不想輸。」

洋基總教練吉拉迪(Joe Girardi)認為，此役田中將大指叉球狀況不如以往，是沒能贏球的最大原因，而田中本人則回應，「我不覺得只是指叉球，今天所有球路都有問題，不能夠把球控到我要的地方，如果能夠馬上知道為什麼我做不到的話，就能夠在比賽裡調整了。」

3局開始下大雨，不僅小熊打者滑倒，就連田中也覺得投手丘出問題，便要求工作人員整理，賽後他對此透露，「我不能把這當作藉口，我想這是我第一次碰到這樣的事，但那就是發生了。我需要那樣的調整。」
