駐美代表沈呂巡大使11日與美國德拉瓦州州長馬克簽署「中華民國 (台灣)交通部與美國德拉瓦州駕照相互承認互惠協定」，德拉瓦州成為繼馬里蘭州、愛達荷州、佛羅里達州、阿肯色州、奧克拉荷馬州及德州後，第七個與台灣簽署駕照相互承認互惠協定的美國州政府。

沈呂巡表示，即日起具有美國合法居留身分及德拉瓦州居住證明的我國僑民，可持有效、經駐美代表處認證的中華民國B類小型車普通駕照，至德拉瓦州車輛管理處免試申領該州D類汽車駕照。

此外，基於互惠原則，取得我國居留證且居留期限超過1年的美國德拉瓦州有效D類駕照持有人，自入境中華民國隔天起1年內，可免試申領我國B類小型車普通駕照。
