泰國明星大象遭毒殺盜牙

（中央社記者林憬屏曼谷2014年7月11日專電）泰國明星大象「帕來克勞」（Phlai Khlao）昨晚遭人毒殺又被取走象牙，引發民間議論，警方推測可能是吸毒青年所為。

這頭50歲的大象在大城省（Ayutthaya）生活，因為牠曾參與電影演出，又常在王室典禮上出現，名氣頗高。

「曼谷郵報」（Bangkok Post）報導，警方認為可能是有毒癮的青年下毒殺害大象，又取走象牙。牠之前的象夫因為吸毒被解雇，但象夫否認犯案。

調查人員一開始推測可能有專業盜獵象牙的集團參與犯案，但大象的主人告訴調查人員，他認為可能是當地青年或吸毒人士，因為象牙牙根還留在大象身上，顯然犯案者不知道1根完美的象牙是要包含牙根的。這隻大象價值約400萬銖（約新台幣374萬元）。

帕來克勞今天下午在僧侶誦經下被埋葬，因為牠重達4.9公噸，專家還在研判嫌犯使用哪種毒藥。
