新種淡水蟹 現身棲蘭山

台灣棲蘭山地區有新種淡水螃蟹！中興大學生命科學系教授施習德、宜蘭大學森林暨自然資源系助理教授毛俊傑2009年在棲蘭海拔2000公尺溪流，發現新種的淡水蟹「棲蘭澤蟹」。

施習德和澎湖科大水產養殖系教授施志昀經5年標本形態比對，確定是新種，10月發表在紐西蘭國際期刊「動物分類學」。

施習德說，海洋螃蟹需經過脫殼變態，毛蟹則要迴游入河口產卵，「棲蘭澤蟹」和櫻花鉤吻鮭一樣都是「陸封型」生物，一生出來就是螃蟹形態；外觀的甲寬約1.5至2公分，目前數量很難估計，棲蘭地區人為破壞少，生態才可以完整保存。

「棲蘭澤蟹」發現點在棲蘭山林區的塔克金溪，屬淡水河最上游，牠在遺傳上與屬於大甲溪流域的「高山澤蟹」最接近，兩者棲息地也相當靠近，直線距離僅13公里，但兩地有數座高於2000公尺高山阻隔。

施習德說，「棲蘭澤蟹」的發現使台灣海拔1000公尺以上高山區澤蟹數量累積到7種，顯見台灣淡水生物多樣性是相當豐富。
