由俄羅斯扶植的車臣共和國領導人卡狄羅夫(Ramzan Kadyrov)今天(28日)發表聲明說，他並沒有派遣軍隊到烏克蘭東部，跟當地的親俄叛亂份子聯手對抗烏克蘭政府軍；不過，卡狄羅夫也表示，某些車臣人或許自行前往烏克蘭。
卡狄羅夫今天在臉書旗下的照片分享網站Instagram貼出這份聲明指出，車臣300萬人口中，有三分之二住在北高加索山區的車臣之外，所以他無法知道每一位人民去了哪裡。
在烏克蘭東部陣亡的親俄叛軍當中，有長像類似高加索地區的戰士。
烏克蘭東部的叛軍曾經佔領各地政府大樓，並且和烏克蘭政府軍交戰。莫斯科當局否認，曾經涉及組織這些動亂。
目前親俄叛軍仍然意圖從政府軍手中，奪回烏克蘭東部頓內茨國際機場的控制權。這場26日爆發的戰鬥，至少造成40多人死亡。
