香港「占中」行動中，警察動用催淚彈和辣椒水對付群眾，引發撻伐，台中警方有沒有這些「裝備」? 昨天有議員質詢，市警局長邱豐光明確說：「最後一批催淚彈，在101年9月因過期，已全數銷毀！」他說全國警察在維護集會遊行秩序時，只有防護背心、頭盔、盾牌、滅火器與警棍，沒有辣椒水與催淚彈、塑膠子彈等。
