菲：美希望延長使用基地時間

（法新社馬尼拉31日電）美國要擴大在亞洲駐軍據點，正與菲律賓協商相關事宜，馬尼拉官員今天表示，美國希望將使用菲律賓基地的時間，延長達20年。

相關磋談目的在讓更多美軍部隊、船艦、飛機等設備通過菲律賓。1992年以前，有數以萬計的美軍派駐菲律賓。

代表菲方談判的外交部主管國防事務次長索瑞塔（Carlos Sorreta）說：「對美國人來說，他們通常要握有這類的協議，持續時間為20年。現在，菲律賓代表團尋求談成較短的時間。」

索瑞塔沒有透露菲方相對提案的明確時間表，但說，「有關期限的問題」將留待「進一步商討」。（譯者：中央社張曉雯）
