Samsung set for another record quarterly profit

Samsung Electronics expects to report record operating profits for the third quarter of 2013.
Samsung estimated that operating profits for third-quarter 2013 will arrive at between KRW9.9 trillion (US$9.24 billion) and KRW10.3 trillion, compared to KRW9.53 trillion in the prior quarter and KRW8.12 trillion a year ago.
Samsung's operating profits climbed to a record high for a sixth consecutive quarter in the second quarter of 2013.
Consolidated revenues for the quarter are forecast to reach KRW58-60 trillion, compared to the KRW57.46 trillion reported for the second quarter, and KRW52.18 trillion for third-quarter 2012, Samsung disclosed.
Samsung is scheduled to release actual results for third-quarter 2013 on October 25.
Samsung is currently the world's top maker of smartphones, memory chips, flat-screen panels and TVs.
