海燕颱風侵襲菲律賓 死亡恐逾萬

超級颱風海燕重創菲律賓，未經證實的統計指死亡人數可能達到一萬人。

海燕是史上登陸菲律賓的最強颱風之一，紅十字稍早說，它在菲律賓兩個沿海省份，奪走一千兩百條人命，不過地方首長依據各地災情通報透露恐怕遠遠不只如此，官方證實的死亡人數，還停留在一百多人，救災單位說，災情全貌，恐怕要好幾天之後才能清晰。

儘管菲國當局事前疏散了八十萬人，不過海燕侵襲的範圍太大，36個省有四百多萬人或多或少受到影響，不計其數的房舍毀損，現在還有33萬人，棲身在一千多個災民收

容中心，災情最慘重的禮智省的省會（獨魯萬）市，道路旁橫屍無數。由於通訊中斷，救難單位現在只能靠無線電聯繫。

獨魯萬市是（東米沙嫣群島）最大城市，第二次世界大戰期間，曾經當過菲律賓的臨時首都，它是戰爭時期的一個重要後勤基地，當地部份醫療設施被颱風損毀，菲律賓已經向世界衛生組織請求援助。
