維基百科獲信賴 勝過新聞

（法新社倫敦10日電） 維基媒體（Wikimedia）國際大會今天結束在倫敦舉行的三天會議，維基百科（Wikipedia）創辦人韋爾斯（Jimmy Wales）表示，英國人相信維基百科超過主流媒體。

民調機構YouGov針對將近2000名英國成人做調查，結果顯示64%受訪者相信維基百科文章的作者說的是事實。

61%受訪者相信英國廣播公司（BBC）的新聞記者，45%相信「泰晤士報」（The Times）和「衛報」（TheGuardian）等大報的記者，而僅有13%相信「太陽報」這類小報的記者。

韋爾斯在大會上說：「英國人相信維基百科超過新聞。」這句話贏得聽眾歡呼。

「令人印象深刻的是，BBC聲譽卓著，而維基百科獲信任程度還略高於BBC。這結果有點驚人，但是我們做到了。」

韋爾斯也承認，線上百科全書的確有缺點，因為它仰賴大眾貢獻內容和校訂，但是「人們向我們尋求可信而紮實的資訊，而維基百科確實不負眾望」。（譯者：中央社實習編譯吳舒婷）
