加拿大伊波拉疫苗下週運交世衛

加拿大公共衛生署（Public Health Agency of Canada）今天發表聲明說，加拿大政府將從20日起運交800劑實驗性伊波拉疫苗給位於日內瓦的世界衛生組織。

聲明表示，在與伊波拉疫情最嚴重國家的衛生當局諮商後，世界衛生組織（WHO）將決定如何分發和使用這些疫苗。

繼動物實驗顯現令人振奮結果後，此疫苗正在美國華特里德陸軍研究院（Walter Reed Army Instituteof Research）展開人體臨床試驗。

加拿大政府先前於8月間表示，它將捐出800到1000劑VSV-EBOV疫苗給世界衛生組織，供在非洲地區使用。由於加拿大和世衛忙著解決後勤和倫理議題，疫苗仍保存在政府實驗室內。

此疫苗由位於曼尼托巴省（Manitoba）省會溫尼伯市（Winnipeg）的加拿大國家微生物學實驗室（National Microbiology Laboratory）負責研發。
