美國國家海洋大氣管理局 (NOAA)17日指出，今年11月是從1880年有記錄以來，最炎熱的11月。這是依據全球地表及海洋的平均溫度計算得來。NOAA表示，今年11月的平均溫度，比20世紀所有11月的平均溫度攝氏12.9度，高出0.78度。且過去28年來的11月溫度，都比11月的正常氣溫更暖和。

11月全世界許多港口的氣溫都比平均水準要高，而俄羅斯、印度及太平洋的部分地區都見到11月的最高溫記錄。11月全球沒有任何地區創下11月的最低溫記錄，但澳洲、北美部分地區的溫度低於平均水準。
