威瑞森買英特爾網路電視 定案

（中央社台北2014年1月21日電）美國第2大通訊業者威瑞森通訊公司（Verizon Communications US-VZ）同意收購英特爾公司（Intel Corp. US-INTC）付費電視新創事業，擴增網路電視服務提供內容。

威瑞森與英特爾在今天的聯合聲明中指出，併入英特爾媒體（Intel Media）及其大約350名員工將加速下一代影音服務的啟用。財務細節並未公布。

開發這項稱為OnCue服務的英特爾，去年開始物色買主，而未投資節目內容，並且自行將這項服務推上市。這項收購案可能讓付費電視產業產生大震盪，為主宰市場的有線公司以及擁有廣大覆蓋率但欠缺網路互動能力的衛星公司帶來更多競爭。

OnCue設計目的是透過高速網路連結提供付費電視節目，對受限地理環境專用線傳送節目的有線電視服務構成威脅。英特爾的系統包括伺服器、機上盒及可以串流節目內容到電視、電話和平板電腦的應用程式。

這兩家公司說，依據交易內容，威瑞森將買下與OnCue平台有關的智慧財產權和其他資產。英特爾媒體管理團隊將留任。（譯者：中央社徐崇哲）
